There is no single, universal method to conduct a correct UX test. There are, however, a few that have been selected over the years. Each of them, in specific conditions, industry, company and appropriate budget, has a chance to provide reliable results that are a huge added value to the company. What are these methods? We have tried to select a few of them.
Task-based usability testing - The most popular method
Let's start with task-based usability testing, which is currently considered the most common and well-known method. Depending on the interactive agency, alternate names are also used, but the most important thing is to know the process itself. It consists in the fact that users selected earlier in the recruitment process are given specific tasks to perform in connection with the website or online store. In the next phase, the respondent describes their experience (sometimes they do it during the study), and the whole thing is often recorded. This allows the researchers to re-analyze the material after it has been completed.
Required resources: A program for recording the course of the examination, a computer, a camera and a separate room in the office
Duration: usually 30 to 60 minutes
Preferred number of participants: 5 - 10 people from one target group
