I chose to study Digital Marketing and Ecommerce because of my experience at an online travel wholesaler. There, I worked with various technologies and strategies that I absolutely had to delve into: metasearch engines, APIs for travel booking systems like Amadeus, ecommerce, etourism, electronic payments, SEO, branding... Plus, I really liked the travel industry and, at the time, was considering continuing in it.

That same year, you made a complete about-face and moved to Barcelona, where you began working as an intern at the English language school What's Up! Living English. How did you apply what you learned during your Master's degree?
My experience at What's Up! was very different from my previous positions, and I had a great time. I was a Marketing Intern there and supported the usa mobile database Community Manager in managing the Facebook profile of one of their centers, creating visual content and fostering a social culture at the center. There, I complemented what I learned in the Master's program and worked with incredible people from all over the world. A fun fact is that it was my first experience in the English teaching industry.

You returned to our program and enrolled in the Postgraduate Program in Social Media Strategies and Digital Content in 2018. What new knowledge did you acquire? What did you value most about this training?
The most valuable part of the training is what I've put into practice in my current position. For example, it's helped me tremendously in creating and optimizing Facebook Ads campaigns, reporting and measurement, community management, content curation, and learning the tools, among other things.

You currently work as a User Acquisition Specialist for ABA English, a digital English language school. Could you tell us a little about your role?
At ABA English, I manage and optimize performance marketing campaigns in Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and Apple Search Ads, I do performance reporting, I oversee the affiliate program, I create content, and I manage some of our Facebook communities. More recently, I temporarily took on the role of Project Manager for the website and SEO, an interesting project that undoubtedly gives me greater visibility into other aspects of the organization and allows me to interact with more teams.

What has it been like to transition from working in the tourism sector to education? What differences do you find between the work dynamics between Caracas and Barcelona?
Changing sectors has been very enriching because I've been able to experience operational and strategic positions, and although at first glance they are different industries, they have many things in common, as they are both SaaS. In terms of work dynamics, there are both similarities and differences. What I value most is the level of demand, the flexible schedule, and the international environment. But above all, I feel very happy to be in Barcelona, part of the digital world.
