What is Contributor Day?
With Contributor Day, WordPress aims to bring new people closer to its Community. It is a day of teamwork, hackathons and networking, where participants cooperate on various specific projects, divided into thematic areas, to contribute to the improvement of the CMS.
WordPress is an open source software, this mainly means that it is based on the work and ideas of contributors all over the world. In this perspective, the event represents an opportunity to get in touch and create new connections the Community .
There are currently 21 global teams of contributors, each working on a specific area.
The 21 Teams
Core : This team builds WordPress, meaning they write the code and contribute new features.
Design : This group focuses on user interface design and development.
Mobile : This team builds the iOS and Android apps.
Accessibility : Called “a11y,” this team ensures that the core and all WordPress resources are accessible.
Polyglots : This is the team of polyglots who work on translating WordPress.
Support : This team is responsible for answering user questions on the forums or chat rooms.
Documentation : This group creates all the documentation .
Themes : This team reviews and approves each theme submitted to the WordPress repository to ensure it is compliant with standards.
Plugins : This group is responsible for finding new resources and fixing any issues with plugin development.
Community : These are the groups that work to organize events, create outreach and education programs, and generally support the community.

Test : is the group that “stresses” the entire ecosystem, as it is responsible for testing the 360° user experience.

Marketing : is the reference resource for marketing strategies.
CLI : WP-CLI is the official command line tool for interacting with and managing WordPress sites.
Hosting : this team works to improve the performance of the hosting service.
Tide : is the team that works on a series of automated tests to check PHP compatibility and report any issues with plugins and themes.
Openverse : is the group that implements new features and develops integrations for sharing audiovisual content with the entire WordPress Community.

Photos : the team supervises every photo submitted to the relevant directory.
Core Performance – The team is dedicated to monitoring and improving the performance of WordPress core across the ecosystem.

Developers, marketers, bloggers. And also influencers, designers, content creators, CMS enthusiasts: WordCamp is open to anyone interested in approaching the world of WordPress or increasing their skills.
The talks are intended for both experts and beginners who want to learn about WordPress from a business perspective.
