What is Coders Lab, what courses do they have and is it worth starting to learn programming courses at all? In today's post I will tell you about my adventure with the IT school Coders Lab and the Python Developer course I completed.
In November 2020, I decided to invest in myself. After long considerations and conversations with Patrycja, I decided to end my full-time job and fully focus on the development of Ambitna Marka. That's when the idea of signing up for a programming course came to my mind. I read a lot about different programming languages and decided that such knowledge would be useful to me in my work creating websites , course platforms, and online stores.
I was most interested in Python. After reading many barbados business email list articles and watching videos about the language, I decided it was a good choice.
Is Python worth learning?
It is a versatile language used in many fields such as: AI, Machine Learning, Web development, Game development, Application development, Automation, Database management, Scripting;
It is simple and logical, and easy to learn;
It is gaining popularity very quickly;
Python developers make great money

It is used by giants such as Instagram, Google, Netflix, Spotify and Dropbox.
What is Coders Lab IT School?
After choosing a programming language, I started looking for an IT school. There were several options, such as Kodilla, IT-Academy, CodeBrainers, and Coders Lab. I looked at the offer of each of them and somehow the last school, Coders Lab, appealed to me the most. Additionally, I read only positive opinions about it and even asked for advice from friends who are programmers and people in the industry. I got the answer that it is "one of the best IT schools".

Coders Lab is a Polish IT training company founded in 2013. They offer bootcamp training – during a given period of time you will learn everything you need to know to start your adventure with a given programming language such as PHP, Python, RUBY or others. The school has branches in Warsaw, Poznań and Kraków.

How long does a programming course take?
I signed up for the Python Developer course. It was November 2020, so you could say the middle of the "pandemic". It's worth adding that the courses can be done in four forms (at least that was the case then, but I don't think anything has changed):
Stationary 3-month course
Stationary 6-month weekend course
3 month online course
6 month weekend online course
A programming language is a difficult learning. I would compare it to learning Chinese (I have never learned it but looking at these patterns I guess it is difficult). Weekend learning, where the classes are every 2 weeks is a poor option. Yes, you have more time to learn the material and you do not spend time during the week. Obviously - some people have permanent jobs and cannot do projects on weekends or after hours like I do.
However, if you want to get into programming well, you have to focus on it well. After 2 weeks, you can forget a lot of things. That's why I decided to take a 3-month stationary course. However, due to the pandemic - Coders Lab changed from stationary to online. At first, I was a bit dissatisfied because it was hard for me to imagine learning code online and day after day. But I was pleasantly surprised.

How much does the Coders Lab course cost?
Developer courses at Coders Lab start at PLN 10,000 net. Is this a large amount? It's hard to say. I have friends who pay over PLN 30,000 for certificates in their industry. Unfortunately, programming is hard and complicated, and there is a lot of knowledge. I think the amount indicates the level of education, which was very high. It is worth investing in such a course because it is an excellent gateway to the world of IT and learning a given language.

I must say that it was an interesting adventure. There were about 12 students in the course. The course itself lasted 3 months and was held online. Classes started at 9 and lasted until about 17 with short breaks and one one-hour lunch break. During this time we were actively writing code, learning new things with the instructor and receiving homework. After the first few days, my head was steaming from the excess of new things.
Over time, everything started to fall into place. The Python Developer course itself was divided into several stages, such as: Python Basics, JavaScript Basics, Django Basics, Advanced Django. The main topic of the course was working on the Django Framework. During the course, it was mandatory to have a webcam on all the time and, of course, a microphone, as well as to be present every day. Of course, the instructor often chose people to "answer". That is, the person had to do a given task live (while sharing the screen).
It was a great thing because thanks to that the person was focused on work and studying, and also more could be learned. I often volunteered myself, especially when I did not understand what was going on. Then I did the task together with the instructor.
