Alcon Entertainment, a film and television production company backed by FedEx founder Frederick W. Smith, has filed its lawsuit against Elon Musk in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. The phone number database free complaint also names Tesla and Warner Bros. Discovery as defendants , alleging that Alcon Entertainment denied Musk’s request to use footage from Blade Runner 2049 at a promotional event held Oct. 10 at Warner Bros. Studios near Los Angeles to introduce Tesla’s new Robotaxi. However, “it used the footage despite our refusal,” the plaintiffs say.

The presentation on October 10 did not use exactly images taken from Blade Runner 2049 , but the images shown there were generated with AI and were clearly inspired by scenes from the feature film , claims Alcon Entertainment. In addition, the images projected at the event for the presentation of Tesla's new Robotaxi also included a sort of clone of Ryan Gosling, protagonist of Blade Runner 2049 .

The lawsuit accuses Musk of relying on AI tools to “intentionally and maliciously” produce images nearly identical to those in the film with the ultimate goal of “making the event more attractive to a global audience and misappropriating the Blade Runner 2049 brand to sell more Tesla vehicles.”
